I love anything savory that’s made with cream cheese. (Can You Freeze Cream Cheese?) I just LOVE a cheese ball. I remember them being at parties when I was a kid and I always think about them fondly.

A few months ago, I got together with my daughter, aunt, mom and sister to make some seasoning blends. We each brought part of the ingredients and some jars, and we mixed big bowls of spices and herbs together and put them in the jars.

Everyone has big jars of italian seasoning, taco seasoning, chili seasoning, steak seasoning, bbq seasoning, poultry seasoning, and ranch seasoning to use throughout the year. It was a really fun activitiy and we had a lot of freshly dried herbs from our gardens to use, so that was fun too!

There was a mishap with the parsley ordering and we ended up with gallons of it when we were finished making everything. So we all put our heads together and came up with a new seasoning mix for garlic bread. I totally recommend you make seasoning blends like this one because it saves so much time when making new recipes or recreating old ones.

Well, it’s so crazy because all of us are in love with it. We have been using it on garlic bread, in compound butter, in bagel schmear, in scrambled eggs, to top baked potatoes, and even to season roasted vegetables.

We cannot get enough of this stuff! In fact, my quart jar is almost gone already!

One of my favorite recipes I came up with to use the garlic bread seasoning is to make a cheese ball. I mean, this cheese ball is the cheese ball of all cheese balls! I can’t say enough about it.

Garlic and herb cheese ball

But bacon, garlic, herbs, and cheese! That’s it! That’s the best combination ever. So this garlic and herb cheese ball is my new favorite cheese ball of all time.

It’s going to be great for parties, as an appetizer or snack at home, game day food, on the Christmas or Thanksgiving table, and for birthday parties.

It’s easy to customize for your own tastes. There are a million different kinds of yummy cheese you could change out. If you don’t like bacon, you are welcome to crust it in nuts or sliced scallions, or cracker crumbs. Whatever you like will work. The garlic bread seasoning blend goes with so many things.

And I think it’s really pretty too. There is something so elegant about whatever you roll your cheese ball in that covers the outside. It’s like it’s saying, I’m fancy and there’s something yummy inside.

It’s fairly inexpensive to make a cheese ball. And a cheese ball can be a great keto appetizer if you skip the crackers and use carrot and celery sticks to scoop it with instead.

You could also eat it with pretzels, chips, broccoli or cauliflower florets, or anything else you like. And don’t forget there are nut crackers that are keto.
