Hi, my name is Christina! I’m a family childcare provider with decades of experience running a successful business at Little Sprouts teaching kids to grow their own food, eat healthily, cook, learn and grow together since I opened in 1995.

I’m a mom to a fabulous grown-up daughter and wife to an amazing man. I want to help YOU live a healthier happier life and teach good habits to the kids in your life. I have tips, information, and ideas that will help you get there.

Why do I do this? I do it because I want people to build the life of their dreams by living well so they can perform at their best. I want to do this by giving you knowledge. This is something I am very passionate about and am also working towards myself. You can use this knowledge to give the kids in your life THE BEST healthy environments you possibly can.

Ideas for developmentally appropriate practice, nutrition, physical activity, child development, taking care of yourself and living a healthy life with healthy food and a healthy environment so you can take better care of your kids, and so much more are available on the blog.

I know how to run a home daycare and home well. I’ve been doing it for years and have built an amazing reputation in my area. I’m the go-to provider to get into. I have a Child Development Associate credential. I have a 5-star rating with my state. And I do tons of training and research ongoing to be the best provider I can. I also do tons of training and research on living healthy, avoiding chemicals, nutrition and other health topics so I can provide the best environment possible for my kids and family.

Why blog about healthy childcare? Does it even matter? Awesome childcare definitely matters to me and it matters to our future. That’s why I do what I do at Little Sprouts.

A few years ago, I was tired, sick, and miserable and I needed a change. I had developed a ton of food allergies and didn’t know what to do. So, I started doing research and found out what was making me feel like crap all the time. Through that research, I realized kids need much more to develop well than I ever realized. I want to share what I’ve learned.

I also realized that ALL childcare providers and parents could thrive better in raising children if they only knew how to live healthier. I started encouraging other providers and parents to make small changes so they could feel better. People asked me the same things over and over again, so I realized if I had a resource for them, I could help more people.

Healthy lifestyle habits, a good attitude, and taking care of yourself are so important! Our adventures have been featured on the Oklahoma Gardening tv show, on multiple garden tours in our community, in magazines, and in other publications.

I wrote a book, which I’m still working on getting published, to help providers learn how to garden with their kids so they could be feeding their kids and themselves the highest quality food. During my time trying to get a publisher, I was asked to start a blog to share day to day information on living and teaching healthy.

That’s how Little Sprouts Learning was born! I hope we can inspire you with over 25 years of experience in the family childcare business and about 20 of that being focused on healthy living and healthy childcare! Come along and learn with us!
