Cucumbers have many health benefits and so does mint. Check them out here. We can always use ways to add more nutrition into our diet. And drinking water is already good for us. We need to do it more, so why not make it tasty and add nutrients that way! It’s a win-win. I love finding ways to add vegetables and fruit into everyday parts of life. I like to make big pitchers of infused waters and enjoying them throughout the day. Then I don’t even have to think about it.
How long does infused water last
Infused water lasts 3-4 days refrigerated. After that you’ll need to wash out your container and remake it fresh. We like to make some and let it infuse overnight and then drink it all the next day, then refill it with water and do the same thing every night for 3-4 days. It feels less wasteful. Then you can eat or compost the ingredients after that.
You might want to remove the fruit and herbs after 24 hours if you are not using it up so it won’t become bitter.
How to make cucumber water
To make your water you’ll just need some sliced cucumber and a sprig of mint. I like to add lemons to this one too and that’s up to you. I grow the mint in our herb garden, but it’s usually easy to find at the grocery store fresh as well. And we love growing our own cucumbers in the garden as well.
