These daycare lesson plans on “Corduroy” are full of fun, sweetness, and lots of learning. They are not your ordinary daycare lesson plans.

Children sit on the floor listening to a teacher; below, a child in a red hat eats next to a brown teddy bear. Text reads: “Lesson Plans on 'Corduroy'—Daycare lesson ideas and inspiration. Get Inspired Here.”.

I love to start every daycare lesson plan with a book and I love using favorite children’s books to stretch into all kinds of learning.

Materials: The book Corduroy, a teddy bear, a button
What to do:

  • Show the kids the teddy bear and ask, “What is this bear missing?” (a button!)
  • Explain that today’s story is about a bear who goes on an adventure to find one.

Discussion questions:

  • What was Corduroy looking for?
  • How do you think Corduroy felt when…
