2cupshredded cheddar cheeseplus a few tablespoons for the top
9frozen or homemade biscuits
1tablespoonbuttermelted (optional, for brushing biscuits)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with nonstick spray or butter.
In a skillet, melt butter and saute onions until translucent.
Add flour and cook and stir until flour just starts to brown.
Add milk, all at once. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
Add drained tuna, broccoli and spinach, most of the cheese, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
Pour the tuna mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Place the biscuits on top of the tuna mixture, spacing them evenly. If desired, brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter for extra flavor and a golden-brown finish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the biscuits and return to the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy this creamy, cheesy, and comforting tuna biscuit casserole with a side salad or steamed vegetables.
