Sundays were made for rest, but have become the time of the week when we start feeling apprehensive about the week ahead. Running a home daycare is a tough job that can overtake every part of life. Sunday self-care for daycare providers is a good habit to get into!
Sunday self-care tips
These days, hustling is the norm, and making time to practice self-care can quickly take the back burner. With that in mind, it’s important to remember that self-care can actually be one of the most productive activities out there, with studies proving it helps reduce stress, increases focus levels, and helps tackle anxiety right to the curve.
Instead of dreading the week ahead and all the responsibilities that come with it, try a few of these amazing Sunday self-care ideas for daycare providers you can do every single Sunday in order to set the following week (and yourself) up for success! Because productivity is greatly increased when we are prepared physically and mentally.
Sundays are the first day of the week, which gives you the perfect chance to practice some serious self-reflection on the week you’re leaving behind. (And don’t forget to take time off for yourself too!)
Get honest and ask yourself: What were the highlights of the week? What did I not enjoy doing? Could I have been more productive? If so, how? What should you have done differently in order to have had a better week?
These questions can not only help you reflect on aspects of your life you want to change, but also give you plenty of opportunities to come up with ways to improve the following week.

What better way to start the week right than by being in a clean and organized space? While I’m not necessarily suggesting you take on a full-on decluttering session every single Sunday (because who was time for that?!), it certainly doesn’t hurt to take an hour or so in order to clean your home, create a to-do list for the week ahead, or organize a kitchen cabinet or two!
There is nothing that makes your day or week go more smoothly than having things where you can find them and getting rid of what you don’t use. It feels so great!
Sundays are your days off, so make sure you make time to do the things you love without feeling an inch of guilt. Get creative by painting, head out to a nearby state park to do some hiking, enjoy a thorough self-care routine, read a book, or just about anything you can think of!
Not only does doing things we enjoy just for the sake of it a wonderful way to lift our spirits up, but it’s also a great way to dive into your own little world and forget all about adulting for a while!
Creating a list of goals you want to tackle the following week is a wonderful way to close the week off right. Take a few minutes to think of every single thing you want to achieve over the next 7 days, including career-related goals, personal goals, and anything that relates to keeping your home and space feeling good.
As a tip, make sure your goals are realistic in order to not overwhelm yourself. Moreover, it’s incredibly important for you to prioritize self-care in your list, this can look like making time for a self-care routine, hobbies, time spent with loved ones, etc.
It’s no secret that scents and aromas can have a huge impact on the way you feel, so turn your space into a DIY aromatherapy session by burning a candle or using some essential oils meant to suit your needs.
