I use mine to make all kinds of air fryer recipes for meats and vegetables. I use it for a little easy bake oven type dinner. It’s so easy to use, doesn’t heat up my kitchen like the big oven, and has all these wonderful settings my oven doesn’t have. I use the air fryer setting for the crispiest dishes like these Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings!

Chicken wings have the highest skin-to-meat ratio of any chicken part. This makes wings ideal for air frying, because all of that skin can become deliciously crisp.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do you cook lemon pepper chicken wings in the Ninja Foodi?

Cook the wings at 400°F for 20 minutes, flipping them halfway through cooking. If you like extra crispy wings, add 2–5 more minutes, keeping an eye on them. Air fryer models can vary slightly.

Do I need to preheat the Ninja Foodi?

Preheating is recommended for the crispiest skin. Most Ninja Foodi models only need a few minutes to preheat before you add the wings.

Can I use frozen chicken wings?

Yes! You can cook frozen wings in the Ninja Foodi, but they’ll need a little extra cooking time. Add about 5–10 minutes and make sure the internal temperature reaches 165°F before serving.

Should I use baking powder for crispier wings?

It’s optional. Baking powder can make the skin even crispier, but these wings still turn out delicious without it if you pat the wings dry before seasoning.

Do I need to add oil?

A light spray or drizzle of oil helps the seasoning stick and encourages browning, but you only need a small amount since chicken wings contain plenty of fat.

How do I keep the wings from sticking?

Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray or brush it with oil before adding the wings. Avoid overcrowding so hot air can circulate around each piece.

What internal temperature should chicken wings reach?

Chicken wings are safe to eat when they reach an internal temperature of 165°F. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the thickest part of the wing.

Can I make these wings ahead of time?

Yes. Cook the wings, let them cool, and refrigerate them for up to 4 days. Reheat them in the Ninja Foodi or air fryer at 375–400°F for a few minutes until hot and crispy again.

What should I serve with lemon pepper chicken wings?

These wings pair well with celery and carrot sticks, ranch or blue cheese dressing, potato wedges, fries, coleslaw, macaroni salad, or a fresh green salad.

Can I use other seasonings?

Absolutely! This cooking method works well with garlic parmesan, Cajun, buffalo, barbecue, ranch, Cajun honey butter, or your favorite dry rub. Just keep the cooking time the same.
