Growing your own food helps to supply you with healthy food to eat. We all know fruits and vegetables are the life source of a healthy body. They have vitamins and minerals we need to survive and thrive.

If you grow your own food, you know what’s on it and can make sure it’s as healthy as it possibly can be. And gardening has helped myself, my husband, and countless kids learn to like more healthy fruits and vegetables. Growing them influences what you eat for sure!

What is gardening

What is gardening? Why does it matter? Can it make a difference really? Who would argue that a packet of seeds that can grow multiple watermelons is less expensive than a single watermelon at the store?

You can grow your own fruits and vegetables from seed for a fraction of the price it costs to buy produce which sometimes can be quite expensive. If you want organic produce, it’s going to be extremely expensive. The importance of gardening is huge for your budget.

Why gardening is important

Bees, butterflies, wasps and other bugs that pollinate your garden are also keeping scores of humans alive on this earth by providing us with food. We learn so much from the garden about life cycles and the symbiotic relationships between plants, animals, bugs and so much more. Our children learn from the garden with us as well. If you are gardening with kids, you are changing the future. I cannot even tell you how many awe-inspiring things I have learned from our garden.

I am in straight awe every day and every time I head out to the garden to work or play. I love the life I have in the garden. I love my role there. I love interacting with every part of it. I have made so many positive changes in my life because of growing my own food.
